Discrimination

I have been wondering what it would be like if discrimination did not exist. Would we be at peace then? I doubt! Only if humanity had a simpler progression would it have been possible, with its numerous wars, ostracisation and ghettos, life without discrimination is not quite concievable. I think it is simple human instinct of survival that we all indulge in some form of discrimination however unknowingly.

Isn't the election of Obama as the first black president of United States a fine example of it. Considering the amount of interest and spotlight that was given to the event itself is an example of the deep seated discrimination which still exits. If a black wasn't contesting the last election then would it be possible that a presidential election of United states of America would get live coverage across the globe? Would it have been possible to get a noble peace prize in the first year of presidency? With all due respect to him, I am great fan of his oratory skills, that is what we all have seen so far.

How much ever educated we all might be, and how much ever love and respect we believe we do show to each other, discrimination exists today as it never did earlier. Its a tool of marketing and winning elections, especially in India.
